A Capella Benefit Concert Success
All five of the University's A Capella groups united on 10-5-05(previous post) for a Benefit Concert for Hurricane Katrina. The concert was sponsored by Phi Sigma Phi and the D Sharps# and included the D Sharps, Golden Blues, Deltones, Y-Chromes, and Vocal Point. A crown of about 200 students attended and a great time was had by all. The concert was put on because, even though the Hurricane was 5 weeks ago, we still need to remember the victims. The money at the concert was raised by either donations or raffle and was given to Teach for America foundation, which helps schools throughout the country in low-income areas with inadequate funding. One of the great points in the night was when there was an announcement that there was a surprise from all all the groups. For the first time in the University of Delaware's history all five a capella groups came together and sang. This joining together truely signifies how U of D students have truely joined efforts to help the victims. Well done!
